John W. Marriott, III
Chairman of the Board

BS in Accounting (University of Utah).  CEO of JWM Family Enterprises, LP and Vice Chairman of the Board and Director of Marriott International.  Mr. Marriott developed and owns 16 hotels managed by Marriott International and oversees the estate planning and asset management for the Marriott Family.  More than 30 years service within Marriott International as President North American Lodging, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Vice President of Development, Director of Finance, General Manager, Director of Food & Beverage, Restaurant Manager and Cook.  Currently Chairman of the Board of the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Director on the Board of the Washington Airports Task Force.  Mr. Marriott helped launch TessArae in 2006.

   
 

L. Thomas Richards, MD
President and CEO

MD (Harvard Medical School), BA (Yale College). Former Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at UCSF Medical Center and Clinical Faculty at Stanford Medical Center. Former investment banker in the mergers & acquisitions departments of several firms: Lazard Frères, UBS Securities and SGCowen. Transactional experience in a wide variety of industries and products,including capital raising, leveraged buyouts and public mergers. Former Independent Director on the Board of Cowen Group, a publicly-traded healthcare and technology investment bank: Audit and Corporate Governance Committees.
   
 

Clark Tibbetts, PhD
EVP and CTO, Founder

BA, Chemistry (Amherst College); PhD, Biophysics and Chemistry (Cal Tech). NCI postdoctoral fellowship in molecular virology (Wallenberg Laboratory, University of Uppsala, Sweden) and NHGRI funded research grants in human genomics (University of Connecticut Health Center, Vanderbilt University).  Dr. Tibbetts started academic enterprise institutes for bioinformatics and biotechnology at George Mason University and Virginia Tech.  Advisor to Department of Energy and NIH Genome Programs. Served on the National Genome Research Review Committee.  Oversaw the Department of Defense collaborative effort to develop and validate the resequencing pathogen microarray (RPM) platform for public health and Biodefense surveillance. Klaus Schafer, MD, MPH
Co-Founder

MD (University of Iowa), MPH (University of Texas). Retired as Assistant Air Force Surgeon for Readiness, Science and Technology at rank of Brigadier General. Former Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for the Chemical and Biological Defense Program. Former SVP, Business Development for Compressus, Inc. Senior executive with extensive background in business strategy, business development, financial oversight, and scientific program management at all levels of healthcare organizations.
